If you happened to be near Hoyt Avenue this morning you probably saw pieces of the construction crane for the Artspace/Arts Council project coming down. But this isn’t something to be sad about, because construction is moving right along. So goodbye big red crane, thanks for the memories.

The Arts Council of Snohomish County has been asked to decorate a tree again for the 2009 Festival of Trees. J Leach and Vickie Norris have once again, generously, stepped forward to sponsor our tree. Last year your creativity helped raise over $570,000 in support of Providence Children’s Center.

We are hoping you will offer your creative talents by contributing original artwork and/or special items for the tree as well as the display beneath it.

Tree Theme:  “The Gift of Art…Two Turtle Doves”
Brief description: “A snow covered, winter wonderland tree shimmers with silver, pale gold and topaz. Silver garland branches and acorns wrap the ice frosted tree adorned with glass birds, elegant ornaments, jeweled stars and glittering snowflakes”….now we need your original works of art to complete the tree and arrangement surrounding it!

We truly appreciate you and the time and effort you donate for this worthwhile cause. Please pass this on to anyone else you believe would be interested.

If you would like your name listed in the formal program, we  will need to know that information by the first week in November. Please email Chris Oldfield at coldfield1311@aol.com

Items Due to Arts Council: Tuesday, November 24th

Community Open House is December 2nd, at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at the Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett, 98201

Thank You,
Chris Oldfield &

After visiting Janet Myer’s Art in Great Spaces studio yesterday I was waiting to cross the street at the corner of Hewitt and Rucker Avenues when I looked up and saw this…

You can’t see our space, just the upper floors for housing, but it was still exciting to see our building as part of the city skyline!
